I’ve worked 25 years as a photographer, mostly photojournalism and editorial, plus a lot of events, environmental portraits, and artist slides. I especially like working on Native Californian and other social justice and educational issues.  My writing partner Mickey Ellinger and I produced a 24 page booklet for the National Park Service; Native People, the Anza Expedition, and the Settlement of California, which is a story of the effects of Spanish colonization told by California Indians, originally published by News from Native California.   http://www.nps.gov/juba/learn/historyculture/upload/ANZA%20supplement_print.pdf.  We also were the photographer and writer for the book, “Allensworth, the Freedom Colony”. “Allensworth” is the story of a utopian African-American town founded in 1908 near Bakersfield, California. authored by Mrs. Alice Royal, who was born in her grandparent’s house in Allensworth.   Published by Heyday Books, “Allensworth” is scheduled for reprinting in 2015.
